Toby Price wins second stage Dakar
Yesterday's heavy weather also took its toll in the Dakar competition today. After yesterday's entire ride had to be canceled, today's ride was shortened due to still extreme conditions. With a difference of only 20 seconds at 3h45min, the Australian Toby Price (KTM) won the stage ahead of the Portuguese Ruben Faria and the Slovakian Svitko. Also notable was the 14th place of the Spanish Laia Sanz, who now enters the top 20.
After his victory today, Price also becomes leader in the standings with just 2 seconds ahead of Faria.
Tomorrow the riders will head into the mountains, where they will encounter narrow and technical roads that are very treacherous due to the rain. The drive is from Termas de Rio Hondo to San Salvadore de Jujuy. A distance of 663km, of which 314km is counterclockwise.
