Ryan Dungey also takes victory in Anaheim
After San Diego, Ryan Dungey now also takes victory in Anaheim II, which is also the third race of the AMA Monster Energy Supercross series. The Red Bull KTM rider rode almost unthreatened to victory ahead of Chad Reed and Ken Roczen. In the SX250 West Coast, victory went to Cooper Webb for the third time in a row.

It was Davi Millsaps who took the holeshot ahead of Dungey, Reed, Nicoletti, Peick and Musquin. Davi Millsaps was able to hold the lead for three laps, but then had to leave it to standings leader Ryan Dungey. Once Dungey was in the lead, that immediately signaled Chad Reed to move into second place. On the sixth lap Chad Reed passed Millsaps into second place. But race leader Ryan Dungey had already opened a three-second gap to new second man Chad Reed. So we had to look forward to the duo Eli Tomac and Ken Roczen, who were just in the top ten after the start and were on the rise. Halfway through the race they were in third and fourth place and started looking for second man Chad Reed. In the last few laps they were close to the Yamaha rider, Eli Tomac in particular was ready to attack for second place but slid down and even had to let Ken Roczen pass due to this fall. At the front, Ryan Dungey rode unthreatened to his second victory of the season and Chad Reed was still able to hold on to second place ahead of Ken Roczen who took his first podium place of the season. After his slide, Tomac came in fourth ahead of Jason Anderson. Marvin Musquin crossed the finish line ninth and Christophe Pourcel finished twelfth.
