Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing rider Jason Anderson has won the opening race of the American Supercross Championship. It was Justin Barcia who took the holeshot ahead of James Stewart, Justin Bogle, Jason Anderson and Ryan Dungey. Anderson quickly moved into second place behind leader Barcia and ahead of the duo Stewart-Dungey. But on the second lap we had a collision between the Stewart-Dungey duo. Stewart tried to pass Anderson at the exit of the corner, but Dungey arrived and he hit straight into the sound of the Suzuki rider. This blow was hard for Stewart and he remained on the ground. The match was immediately stopped with the red flag. Fortunately, a little later we saw that Stewart was sitting up again and being driven away by the Asterisk Medical Mule. So we got a restart and Seely immediately took the lead ahead of Tomac and Barcia. A few laps later, Trey Canard crashed Dungey in front of him in a duel for fourth place. Cole Seely was in the lead all the time, but he was able to get close to Jason Anderson and with six laps to go, Jason Andeson resolutely took the lead. Seely also saw Ryan Dungey pass for second place, but the victory went to Jason Anderson who also took his first ever SX450 victory. Dungey took second place ahead of Cole Seely and Eli Tomac with Ken Roczen rounded out the top five in this opening race of the 2016 AMA Monster Energy Supercross series.
