Motorsport Future welcomes Liam Everts
After 7 seasons of hard work, lots of sand and even more fun, Motorsport Future has become a permanent fixture in Flemish motocross. For 2016, MSF will continue on its chosen path with healthy ambitions. To emphasize quality support, MSF has once again opted for three riders. MSF says goodbye to Jordi van Mieghem for 2016. His place is taken by Liam Everts.
Rider trio: Genot, Geerts, Everts
Everts, who turns 12 next year, goes like this Cyril Enjoyment (16) who was included in the selection at the same age. Pleasure itself remains on board. He will compete in the EMX250 championship next year for the Italian Silver Action-KTM team. In addition to Pleasure is also Iago Geerts (15) retained. The young Kempen native will make his appearance in the EMX125 championship with the Estonian Sakhar-KTM team.
MSF chairman Joël Smets is satisfied with the trio of riders that will defend the flag of Topsport Flanders in motocross next year. “First and foremost, we would like to thank Jordi Van Mieghem for his efforts and achievements during his MSF years. Jordi is a great guy who works hard for his sport. I am sure that he will still show great things, we wish him good luck in his further sporting career! With Genot and Geerts we have two boys who should be able to play a significant role internationally in their class next year. They have both gained some experience at a high level and they are also getting stronger.”
As far as Liam Everts is concerned, 2016 will be a learning year in the purest sense of the word. Given his age, Liam will not yet fully participate in the MSF program, but dad Stefan believes it is important that his son receives the right foundation. Stefan Everts: “Motorsport Future places great emphasis on balanced development. I really appreciate. Young riders must learn to combine motocross with school. They work on their physique and technique in a sporty way without unnecessary risks. The correct scientific framework for which MSF calls on the Bakala Academy is also a great asset.”
Support European Championship riders
Although Motorsport Future consciously chooses to support a limited number of motocross riders as best as possible, it also pays attention to other riders. Specifically to support all Flemish European Championship riders, they are also invited to train with MSF several times. Marvin Van Daele hung up his helmet last season. The driven West Flemish native will now provide training for Motorsport Future and monitor drivers during European Championship competitions. The other coaches, including Kris Fleerackers, will also regularly attend European Championship races.
The goal of MSF is and remains to guide talented riders to the top. The appointment of selected riders takes place year by year, although with a longer-term vision, this does offer opportunities for ambitious young people to earn their place with great performances. In addition, Pierre Schroyen, who has trained generations of Flemish riders, continues to follow competitions with a critical eye as a scout.
2016 structure MSF
In order to deliver customized solutions, Motorsport Future has set up a specialized framework. Not only does everyone have a specific task, the riders can count on a personal coach who guarantees good follow-up.
– Joël Smets is chairman of Motorsport Future and has overall management of the MSF program
- Dirk Geukens coaches Jago Geerts
- Pierre Schroyen scouting and coaching
– Stefan Peetermans coaches Cyril Genot, he is assisted by physiotherapist Carlo Mantoine
- Marvin Van Daele en Kris Fleerackers monitor riders during European Championship competitions and training
- Inge Van Raemdonck coordinates the physical guidance of riders
- Bakala Academy provides physical testing and scientific feedback to refine training programs
- Frank DeVos takes care of the accounting
However, the efforts of all these people would be impossible without the support of Topsport Vlaanderen, Donjoy, Gregoor, Compex, Starmeal and Bakala Academy
