ONK 85cc: The season finale
De open Dutch championships or also called the ONKs, are literally still wide open in all classes, so the champions in the 85cc, 125cc, MX2 and MX1 classes will only be crowned this weekend in Mill. On the beautiful de Kuilen circuit, about an hour's drive from the Belgian-Dutch border, there will undoubtedly be a fight with blood, sweat and tears.
De 85cc class let's take a closer look, even though the championship here has almost been decided, it is still allowed Rick Elzinga don't make any big mistakes. With a deficit of 46 points Loeka Thonies still mathematically in the title fight. However, Elzinga does not miss many points, the Beursfoon Rockstar KTM rider has won no fewer than 7 of the 10 heats in the long season that started in March. He finished second in the remaining three heats.
For second place, it is almost certain that Loeka Thonies will take the vice title. Behind the duo Elzinga and Thonies we find a whole bunch of riders who are aiming for the third place that now belongs to the reigning European and world champions. Raivo Dankers is. He has a 9 point lead Bastian Boegh Damm, who, like 80% of the riders in this class, will complete his last race on an 85cc. As well Jeroen Bussink, Max Black, Stef Karssemakers, Raf Meeuwissen, Boyd van der Voorn en Steyn Nooijen mathematically still have a chance of a podium in the final rankings!
