Max Nagl is already satisfied with the 2016 tests…
After being briefly in contention for the 2015 MXGP world title, Red Bull IceOne Husqvarna rider Max Nagl has already taken the next step towards 2016 and has already made good progress together with the team during testing on the '16 FC450 bike last week. The German has already completed the first set-up and suspension tests and now only needs to test some engine parts before he leaves on a short holiday with his wife Sabrina and son Mason.
“The new bike feels great but it's completely different because of the geometry and that means we had to start from scratch with the suspension setup,” he says. “We have made impressive progress in the two days we have been in France and we will now try to get the engine part in order as well. When we are on holiday I know that the boys will find some improvements here and there and then we will test again sometime in mid-November.”
Nagl already had a good feeling on the 2015 FC450 bike after his positive start to the season where he took three wins in the first five races and was also in the lead of the championship until he was defeated in June. broke his ankle during the qualifications of his home Grand Prix in Teutschenthal. The 28-year-old Nagl also wanted the WP suspension to become a real priority for next season, so it was his request to use the complete 'Air' system, which had already been extensively tested by teammate Nathan Watson.
“I have already tested the air suspension but we still have not made a decision on this. It feels different and that also means a different way of driving,” he said. “We have an option to go that route, but we need to talk more about this with WP.”
