Romain Febvre beats Americans in Glen Helen
Romain Febvre fulfilled his status as world champion today on the beautiful course in Glen Helen. Febvre defeated Josh Grant and Cooper Webb in the final standings.
In the first moto Webb took the fastest start. Together with Josh Grant he tried to create a gap on the pursuers. Led by Cairoli, Paulin and Febvre, among others, the European GP riders gave chase. In the end it was only Febvre who could keep up the pace and towards the end he closed the gap. He took over the lead and eventually won by a slim margin ahead of Webb and Grant.
In the second series the fastest start was for Antonio Cairoli. He led for a few laps but after a few laps had to let Grant and Webb in front. Romain Febvre also entered the fray again. He moved up to second place and towards the end he also moved to the leader. The World Champion attacked but made a small mistake. He finished second to Grant, but had enough for the overall victory. Grant finished second and Cooper Webb finished third. Dean Wilson finished fourth followed by second European rider Glenn Coldenhoff.
