ONK: De Dycker, Bengtsson and de Reuver are coming to Oss
The MX1 class at the fifth race of the Open Dutch Championship at the Witte Ruysheuvel in Oss could be a very exciting one. Ken de Dycker comes to Oss for competition rhythm, Filip Bengtsson wants to win an ONK and Marc de Reuver returns for his first ONK match of this season.
Ken de Dycker from the Red Bull KTM Factory Team comes to Oss to work on his form for the MX des Nations. During the German Grand Prix he broke his shoulder and was out for about two months after surgery. Because Kevin Strijbos also dropped out of the Belgian MX des Nations Team due to an injury, team manager Joel Smets approached Ken to replace him. In order to gain as much competition rhythm as possible in the shortest possible time, De Dycker comes to Oss to ride his last race for the MX des Nations.
In addition to Dycker, we will have another permanent fixture from the MXGP world championship at the start in Oss and this is the fast Swede Filip Bengtsson of the 24MX Honda Racing Team. Bengtsson fought for victory with Dean Ferris in the previous match for the Open Dutch Championship in Markelo, but fell just short of winning. As we have come to expect from Bengtsson, he will make another attempt in Oss and will certainly not avoid the fight with Ken de Dycker, among others.
Reigning Dutch MX1 Champion, Marc de Reuver, will appear at the start in an ONK in Oss for the first time this year. De Reuver suffered a serious back injury just before the start of the season, which meant the end of his active motocross career. However, De Reuver still wants to participate in a number of selected races and has decided to start in Oss. He has been training for a number of weeks and last Sunday he managed to finish second behind Ceriel Klein Kromhof at the Dutch MX1 Championship in Axel.
After four games, Ceriel Klein Kromhof is in the lead with a five-point lead over Dean Ferris and William Saris follows at thirteen points. Both Klein Kromhof and Saris will certainly not give it to Dycker, Bengtsson and de Reuver, which promises to be an exciting event in the MX1 class.
The training sessions in Oss start at 09:00 AM and the starting gate will close for the first time at 12:00 PM.
