Jeremy Van Horebeek takes second Belgian title in a row!
In Mont-Saint-Guibert we got a big match, with only a difference of 14 points between them Jeremy Van Horebeek en Know the Dycker, in favor of Jeremy, we started the final of the Belgian championship. During the timed training, the Yamaha rider immediately put things in order and achieved the fastest lap time of everyone present. De Dycker followed at 1,6 seconds and everyone else had to make do with a gap of more than 4 seconds.
In first heat it seemed that Van Horebeek immediately started to expand the lead, he passed the Australian on the first lap Dean Ferris to the leadership. Followed in his wake Steve Ramon. De Dycker had started fourth and needed 4 laps to pass both Ramon and Ferris, once he arrived in second place the reigning Belgian champion had already started flying. Meanwhile, behind this foursome, it is Brent Van Doninck who is nestling well at the front in this Open class with the MX2 bike. Just before the finish, the unthinkable happens, Van Horebeek loses balance when using a step and jumps into the audience. Fortunately, these people were able to duck away in time and there were no casualties, even though they were in an incomprehensible place. Jeremy, however, had to join in third and thus saw his great opponent De Dycker take the victory and catch up by 5 points. The difference was now 9 points.
In second heat De Dycker had his share of bad luck. First they fell on the inside of the bend in front of him and when they resumed they fell right in front of him on the outside of still the same bend. Keeno started an impossible task, driving from last place to first and trying to finish ahead of Van Horebeek. The Yamaha rider had a better start and made short work of it Jeffrey Dewulf and Ramon who had started for him. The 2-time world champion Ramon once again showed what he is made of, he went through all the deep ruts with impressive ease and found traction in the banking bends as if he were driving with nails in his tires. It has to be said, he can still do it, a second place is proof of this. Dean Ferris was able to cross the finish line in third place ahead of Dewulf who held on strongly. De Dycker was able to come back to 5th place. The difference now between Van Horebeek and De Dycker is 18 points, the bear from Brabant now has to count on a dropout from The Jerre.
De third heat started perfectly for Van Horebeek, at the exit of the first corner he was in the lead and he could start driving at his own pace. Behind him, Jeffrey Dewulf and Dean Ferris again started well, Damon Graulus was also in a good position, but with the MX2 machine he had to give up some places compared to the 450cc engines. Ken de Dycker was only 7th away and could already see the mood hanging, with a view to the cross of nations he kept a high, but visibly comfortable and safe pace. About halfway through the series, things became clear. Damon Graulus wanted more than anything to be the first MX2 rider to cross the finish line and Jeffrey Dewulf fell away from the front. With three laps to go it is Dean Ferris who takes over the lead from Jeremy Van Horebeek, less than a lap later Damon Graulus also follows. Graulus who also puts pressure on Ferris until the very last lap to eventually pass Ferris and thus win the last round of the 2015 Belgian Championship season. This on his MX2 motorcycle! Jeremy Van Horebeek only had to finish 3rd for the Belgian title!
