Tim Gajser wins GP and becomes the new leader in MX2!!!
The Slovenian Tim Gajser has won the Grand Prix of the Netherlands in Assen, Drenthe. With this victory he immediately takes over the leading position in the standings from Pauls Jonass. The Red Bull KTM rider crashed at the start of the second series and had to give up some points to the new leader Tim Gajser. On the Belgian side we got a great performance from Kemea Yamaha rider Brent Van Doninck who took his very first podium place in a Grand Prix of his career.
Tim Gajser wins and Lieber and Van Doninck get three and four...
It was home rider Davy Pootjes who took the holeshot ahead of teammate Pauls Jonass and Max Anstie. However, the Dutchman could not enjoy the leading position for long because Jonass already took the lead on the opening lap. Max Anstie quickly moved up to second place, followed by our compatriot Julien Lieber. Tim Gajser was in fifth place and was followed by Brent Van Doninck. Anstie seemed on his way to taking over the lead, but literally bit the dust in the fourth laps. So we got Lieber in second place, followed by Gajser and Van Doninck. Still, we had to wait until halfway through the race to get a position change again. This came from Tim Gajser who took over Lieber and went looking for leader Jonass. This only lasted about four laps and Gajser took the lead over Pauls Jonass. For third place, Van Doninck looked for Lieber for third place, but this match still went in favor of Lieber. Tim Gajser rode a little further away from Jonass, but he still made a mistake on the penultimate lap, but luckily the engine kept running and he kept Jonass at a safe distance to drive to victory in this first series. Julien Lieber finished third and Van Doninck finished fourth just as well. From the Dutch side we got Pootjes in eighth place and Boogers in eleventh place.

Tim Gajser took the GP victory and becomes the new World Championship leader…
Once again it was Davy Pootjes who took the holeshot ahead of the Swiss Jeremy Seewer. The biggest victim in this starting commotion was the leader in the standings Pauls Jonass. The Red Bull KTM rider even had to pit and even returned to the track one lap behind to try to score some points. At the front, Pootjes was still in the lead and would continue to do so for about five laps until Max Anstie came over. Pootjes made a mistake a little later and disappeared from the match. Tim Gajser, who was just in the top ten after the start, also climbed up lap by lap and joined the duo Seewer and Van Doninck. Gajser only needed a few laps to climb to second place. Anstie took the lead very smoothly at the front and drove to victory in this second series. Tim Gajser also easily took second place and also won the GP. For third place we had a duel between Seewer and our compatriot Brent Van Doninck, but the Swiss kept our compatriot under control and finished third. But Van Doninck's fourth place was still enough to finish third in the final standings of the GP and thus take the first podium for the Kemea Yamaha team. Our second compatriot Julien Lieber now took sixth place, just missing the podium. Finally, Pauls Jonass still rode to thirteenth place and is now thirteen points in the standings of the new World Cup leader Tim Gajser.
