Exciting ONK season start will continue on August 9 in Markelo
After a break of about three months, the second half of the Open Dutch Motocross Championship starts on Sunday 9 August from start to finish markelo. Circuit de Herikerberg has a great track record because major international competitions have been organized at this beautiful accommodation for years.
De MX2 class provides great competitions all year round. Aleksandr Tonkov is in the lead, but due to an injury he will not be able to defend his leading position. Tonkov is followed by only 1 point Davy Pootjes and since the Red Bull KTM Factory rider is currently in good form, we can assume that he will make up for this deficit in Markelo without any problems. Brian Bogers competing for the Dutch HSF Logistics team will aim for success in Markelo. In addition to the Red Bull KTM Factory Team and the HSF Logistics Motorsport Team, a number of leading teams from the World Championship and the European MX2 Championship will be at the start in Markelo: Wilvo Negaan Husqvarna Factory Team, Kemea Yamaha Yamalube Team (Damon Graulus, Brent van Doninck, Benoit Paturel), No Fear Kawasaki Team with Micha Boy de Waal, Rockstar Energy Suzuki Team with Bas Vaessen and the HNHF Kawasaki Team (Lars van Berkel, Magne Klingsheim, Freek van der Vlist).
In MX1 class feeds home rider Ceriel Klein Kromhof from Daarlerveen to the ranking. It is exciting in the MX1 class because the top five are only within thirteen points. Klein Kromhof has recovered from his thumb injury that affected him in the third match in Rhenen, but this will also be necessary as he is followed on two points by William Saris from Bakel and on three points by the Belgian Yentel Martens, who unfortunately will not participate due to an injury. Rick Satink from Hengevelde is the second home driver in Markelo after Klein Kromhof and he is in a good fourth place. The rider from the GDI Husqvarna Team is only eight points behind leader Klein Kromhof, meaning things could still go either way. However, the top four must pay attention Dean Ferris from Wilvo Negaan Husqvarna Factory Racing. Ferris is currently a regular top five rider in the MXGP World Championship and will not go for anything less than the day's victory in Markelo. Since he is only thirteen points behind leader Klein Kromhof, everyone will have to go all out to maintain their place in the championship. Heiki Laing from Haarle and Joey Bak from Rijssen will do everything they can to score as high as possible in front of their own audience!
In addition to the MX1 and MX2 classes, the 85cc and 125cc classes also compete for points at the Open Dutch Championship in Markelo. In which we get several compatriots at the start in the 125cc class, such as numbers 1 & 2 of the EMX125 competition in Lommel Cyril Enjoyment en Iago Geerts. The training sessions start at 09:00 AM and the starting gate will close for the first time at 12:00 PM. The entrance fee is 20 euros for adults.
