Shaun Simpson, Kevin Strijbos and 12 other GP toppers at the start in Balen
Two more sleeps and we can go back to the classic of classics, the motocross of August 15 at the Keiheuvel in Balen. Ever since we were children, we went to Balen with the whole family on August 15 and, with a few exceptions, we have not missed a single edition. We will be ready this year too, because there are many top athletes at the start.
In the Sylvain Geboers trophy (the open class) no fewer than 3 world titles will be at the start, 2 in the name of Steve Ramon and one in the name of Tyla Rattray. In addition to Rattray, 13 full-time GP riders will be at the start, including Kevin Strijbos, Jens Getteman and Brent Van Doninck. From abroad we have the GP of Lommel winner Shaun Simpson, leader in the MX2 championship Pauls Jonass, Dutchman Davy Pootjes, sand specialist Filip Bengsston, Todd Waters, Jose Butron, Harri Kulas, Petar Petrov, Dean Ferris, Benoit Paturel and Thomas Sileika . In addition, we also have many top amateurs at the start, including former mxdn rider Marvin Van Daele who will ride the last Keiheuvel of his career, guest rider in the GPs Jeffrey Dewulf and former professional Dennis Verbruggen.
In the MX2 class it will also be a battle for the Joël Roelants trophy. Numerous young talents will compete for this coveted title. In addition to these top classes, we will also get a number of side series, so we can probably look forward to a new Geerts Vs. Pleasure duel in the 125cc class. And numerous other duels in the 85cc, senior open, junior open, national MX1 and national MX2 classes.
