Max Anstie rules the MX2 Grand Prix in Lommel
Max Anstie has managed to win the Belgian Grand Prix in the MX2 class for the second time in a row. The British Kawasaki rider dominated both series in the heavy Lommel sand. Second place went to Pauls Jonass, who immediately became the new leader in the standings. On the Belgian side we got a nice result from Julien Lieber, who just missed the podium with a sixth and third place.
Max Anstie rules in the first series
It was the British Max Anstie who took the holeshot ahead of Pootjes, Seewer and Jonass. In the opening lap, Pauls Jonass immediately attacked Anstie and took the lead. Yet it was only for a few laps and then Anstie took over command from Jonass. Petrov was sitting comfortably in fourth place, with our compatriot Julien Lieber behind him. Brent Van Doninck was in seventh place until he crashed on the fourth lap and moved to fifteenth place. Just before half the race we also lost Davy Pootjes at the front, who was in sixth place at the time and disappeared from the race with bad luck. Who left a very strong impression was the Finn Harri Kullas, who was just outside the top ten in the first round but subsequently moved up to fourth place. Anstie drove the perfect race and won ahead of Jonass and Petrov. Julien Lieber, who was battling Petrov for third place, lost two more places on the last lap due to mechanical problems. Brent Van Doninck tried to put some things right and crossed the finish line in ninth place ahead of teammate Paturel and Boogers. Where were Tim Gajser and Valentin Guillod then... HRC rider Gajser rode a consistent series and still took fifth place, while Standing Constuct rider Guillod had a hard time and only crossed the finish line in twelfth ahead of our compatriot Jens Getteman.

Max Anstie takes the double and Pauls Jonass is the new World Cup leader!!!
It was Anstie again who took the lead ahead of Jonass, Petrov, Seewer and Boogers. The first victim after the start was world champion Jordi Tixier who came last after the first round. But Valentin Guillod and our compatriot Brent Van Doninck also crashed together and disappeared from the race. Julien Lieber, on the other hand, was in fourth place behind Petrov, Jonass and leader Anstie. Jens Getteman was in the top ten this time, but disappeared from the race with four laps to go when he was in seventh place. At the front, Max Anstie drove further away from second man Pauls Jonass, lap after lap. Only for third place did we have a duel between Petrov and our compatriot Julien Lieber. The Standing Construct Yamaha rider defeated Petrov and crossed the finish line third behind Jonass and series winner Max Anstie. Tim Gajser, who could perhaps become the new leader in the standings after the GP in Belgium, also had to come far from the background and would eventually finish seventh behind the Dutchman Davy Pootjes. But the Slovenian still falls four points short in the battle for the leadership position because Red Bull KTM rider Pauls Jonass becomes the new leader in the standings with only four races to go.
