Kullas and Coldenhoff win Qualifying Races in Assen
The Finn Harri Kullas (MX2) and the Dutchman Glenn Coldenhoff (MXGP) have become the victors of the Qualifying Races for the Dutch Grand Prix that will be held tomorrow in Drentse Assen. The track that was constructed around the famous MotoGP circuit in Assen is therefore quite difficult due to the loose sand supplied.
MX2
Victory in MX2 went to Wilvo Negaan Husqvarna Factory Racing rider Harri Kullas who finished ahead of Max Anstie and standings leader Pauls Jonass. Our compatriot Brent Van Doninck of the Kemea Yamaha team took fourth place ahead of the American Thomas Covington. The first home rider was Brian Bogers who crossed the finish line in sixth place. Tim Gajser, who is second in the standings, did not start very well and eventually finished eighth ahead of our second compatriot Julien Lieber. The Dutchman Davy Pootjes, who grabbed the holeshot, crashed in the second lap while he was in the lead and would just finish in the top ten. Finally, Jens Getteman finished seventeenth in this Quailifying Race for the MX2 class.

Home driver Glenn Coldenhoff grabbed the holeshot and immediately took control of this Qualifying Race and rode to victory unthreatened. For second place we had a little more battle with the Honda duo Paulin-Bobryshev and our compatriot Jeremy Van Horebeek. Yet it was Van Horebeek who was caught between the HRC boys for half a series, taking second place behind winner Coldenhoff. Gautier Paulin finished third, but immediately had Romain Febvre behind him. Scot Shaun Simpson took fifth place ahead of a battle-weary Russian Evgeny Bobryshev. Of our other Belgians, Jeremy Delince took fourteenth place, Kevin Wouts finished eighteenth and Jeffrey Dewulf finally finished 23rd.
