Italy fully opts for youth with the mxdn selection
Many countries nowadays announce their teams for the Motocross of Nations. Italy also announced their team today. The country of 8-time world champion Antonio Cairoli opts for youth, even though Cairoli is able to participate in the Glen Helen GP. The Italian team will compete in Ernée with Ivo Monticelli, MX2 Michele Cervellin and Open Samuel Barnardini in the MXGP class.
The president of the Italian federation Paulo Sesti told us that he was happy with the choice of national coach Thomas Traversini. After a tough and injury-prone season for the Italians, this is a team that can be built on for the future. It is only possible to gain experience for the Motocross of Nations once a year and it is therefore an excellent opportunity for these talents to defend the Italian colors.
