Honda gives Gajser a multi-year contract
HRC will make an important investment in the MX2 FIM Motocross World Championship by giving 18-year-old Tim Gajser a five-year contract extension, meaning the Slovenian will ride in red until the 2020 season. This deal will therefore be the longest which the Japanese had already managed to close.
This agreement was confirmed in Lommel during the Belgian Grand Prix and this is also a strong sign that Honda wants to achieve more success in MX2. Since returning as a factory team in 2004 to try to regain the title after fifteen years.
Gajser is currently in the Italian Gariboldi Team that falls under the wing of HRC for the MX2 class and therefore remains eligible for the CRF250RW in their current handling for the next five years. But in the deal there is also an option for #243 to ride in the States (where he has an ambition to ride for Supercross), but there is also a possibility of progression to the HRC Factory MXGP team where Gautier Paulin and Evgeny are currently racing. Bobryshev are part.
