Valentin Guillod wins Czech MX2 Grand Prix
Valentin Guillod of the Standing Construct Yamaha team was clearly the fastest rider on the Loket technical circuit. The Swiss already took his third GP victory of the season and due to the retirement of Jeffrey Herlings, he immediately becomes a title candidate. In the battle for the world title, which is now completely open again because Herlings will no longer play this season, Valentin Guillod and Tim Gajser have the same number of points (399) and Pauls Jonass follows on ten points (389), but also defending champion Jordi Tixier is only 29 points behind this duo. It promises to be exciting in the MX2.
Max Anstie wins, Tim Gajser retires after fall….
It was the Italian Samuele Bernardini who took the holeshot ahead of Tixier and Anstie. Bernardini was able to hold the lead for three laps, but then Max Anstie had enough and overtook the Italian into the lead. In the same lap, Tim Gajser also made a mistake and dragged Jeremy Seewer into his fall, while Guillod barely avoided the crash. After this fall, Gajser immediately had to go into the pits and had to abandon the battle with a damaged exhaust. A few laps later, Valentin Guillod had moved into third place over Pauls Jonass, but then made a mistake himself and lost a few places. The Swiss from Standing Construct was clearly the fastest rider on the circuit and then took back Paturel and Jonass and also drove towards Tixier in the closing laps. The Frenchman was clearly unprepared against Guillod's attack and thus lost second place on the final lap. Max Anstie also didn't have much left but still won this opening series ahead of the fast Swiss and Jordi Tixier. Julien Lieber became our best representative with seventh place and Brent Van Doninck finished ninth. Kevin Fors took one more World Cup point with his twentieth place and Jens Getteman was forced to retire.

Valentin Guillod wins and takes his third GP victory…
The winner of the first heat Max Anstie also immediately took the holeshot in the second heat, but it was Tim Gajser who took the lead on the opening lap. Gajser was able to hold the lead for four laps until he lost his balance as he entered the pit lane and was just able to stay on the bike. Max Anstie took advantage of this to take over the lead. Yet Anstie was only able to enjoy the lead for four laps until he had a spectacular crash and even had to give up. So Gajser is in the lead again ahead of Guillod and Jonass. But Valentin Guillod wanted more and went looking for leader Gajser. With another six laps Guillod made a nice pass at Gajser and we got a new leader who would no longer hand this over. Guillod took the victory in this second series, which also gave him the final victory. Gajser came second and Jonass still had to fight for third place against a very strong Kemea Yamaha rider Benoit Paturel. Jordi Tixier finished fifth ahead of teammate Petar Petrov. Julien Lieber was once again our best compatriot with eighth place and Brent Van Doninck finished ninth, just like in the first series. Jens Getteman and Kevin Fors (fall) had to leave the match early.
