Dungey and Webb also win the National at Washougal
Ryan Dungey and Cooper Webb emerged as the winners of round nine of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship in Washougal. The race itself was held in very muddy conditions, but no problem for Ryan Dungey as he took his fourth win of the season in this AMA National 450 series. For Cooper Webb it was his second consecutive victory in the 250 Class.
250 class
Yamalube/Star Racing/Yamaha rider Cooper Webb takes victory in the 250 Class for the second weekend in a row. In the first series he had to let Marvin Musquin go ahead, but in the restart teammate Jeremy Martin made a mistake while he was in the lead and so Webb was able to drive undisturbed to the series victory and the day's victory. Second place went to Red Bull KTM rider Marvin Musquin who won the opening heat and finished second behind Cooper in the second heat. Because the second series is decisive, Cooper took the win ahead of Musquin. But more important for the Frenchman is that he has regained many points on the leader in the standings. Jeremy Martin had to concede a lot of points to Marvin Musquin in Washougal. With a ninth and a third place, Martin only finished fifth, losing fifteen points to Musquin. The difference is now only four points in favor of Jeremy Martin with three games to go in the championship. The Swiss Arnaud Tonus, who was ready for his return, took a nice third place in the first series, but did not get further than twentieth place in the second series.
