After Budds Creek, Barcia now also wins RedBud! Musquin loses lead…
The audience had come en masse to experience the beautiful AMA National of Red Bud on the American National Holiday. The audience in Michigan was treated to a more than interesting match.
In the 250 class they saw Jeremy Martin take the win in both motos. However, this did not go without a fight for the raining 250 AMA Outdoor champion. The youngest of the 'Martin' brothers took the lead in the first moto, but could not immediately find the right rhythm, which quickly caused teammate Cooper Webb and major competitor Marvin Musquin to fly past. However, the Yamaha pilot did not panic and after a little more than halfway through the race he in turn passed Marvin Musquin to move into the lead on the last lap, after a short mistake by Cooper Webb. Cooper Webb was able to recover quickly enough to finish in second place ahead of a strong performing Zach Osborne who relegated Marvin Musquin to fourth place.
The second moto gave us a holeshot for Christian Craig. The substitute for Justin Bogle managed to keep his Geico Honda in first position for more than eight laps, but then his song was over. Reigning champion Jeremy Martin passed 'Christian Craig' and Zach Osborne followed suit shortly afterwards. 'Craig himself was able to hold on to third place, ahead of Jeremy's older brother, Alex Martin. Marvin Musquin only finished sixth and thus sees the golden thing done in Budds Creek undone. Jeremy Martin now takes the lead in the rankings again, the difference between JMart and MarvAttack is now 7 points.

In the 450 class we saw a great duel between Justin Barcia and Ryan Dungey in the first moto. Both men recorded times two seconds faster than anyone else in the field, immediately relegating the competition. Joe Gibbs Racing driver Justin Barcia, strengthened by his victory last weekend at Budds Creek, showed that last weekend's victory was no fluke. Ryan Dungey had to go all out in this first moto to pass 'BamBam' and then keep him behind. The American Red Bull KTM pilot finished the race just three seconds ahead of JGR Yamaha pilot Justin Barcia and twelve seconds ahead of Ken Roczen. The second round again featured the same leading players, these two gentlemen were going to determine who would take home the second round and the overall victory. Justin Barcia and Ryan Dungey worked around the course and made it a fun viewing experience. Ryan Dungey tried to put pressure on Justin Barcia, hoping he would make a mistake. But nothing could be further from the truth. The Yamaha pilot rode one of the best races of his career, beating Ryan Dungey by just over one second. Ken Roczen finished more than half a minute behind these two gentlemen who performed at an exceptional level in Red Bud.
