Very last edition of Everts&Friends!
Within exactly one week, the 21th and final edition of the 'Everts & Friends Charity Race', a unique motocross event for charity, will take place on Tuesday, July 2015, 10 - our National Holiday - at the Horensbergdam circuit in Genk.
That day will Stefan Everts, ten-time motocross world champion, for the very last time to compete with his (former) colleagues from the MXGP and MX2 class. Despite the large number of injured GP pilots, the following include: Jeremy Van Horebeek, Steve Ramon, Pauls Jonass, Filip Bengtsson, Jens Getteman, Milko Potisek, Kenny Vandueren, Christophe Charlier, Benoit Paturel, Marcus Schiffer, Mike Verstraeten, Kevin Wouts,…
It is also certain that the three sexes Harry Everts – Stefan Everts – Liam Everts get on the bike together one more time for this last edition. As with previous editions, the competition program is particularly well filled with series for 'Mini's' (50cc), 'Junior Stars' (65cc), 'Future Stars' (85cc and 125cc), 'GP Stars' (MXGP/MX2), 'Fun Bikes' (mopeds and scooters) and 'Golden Heroes' (vintage cars). Because many cyclo-cross riders these days have to compete on stages or in stage competitions, the Cyclo MX Race was replaced for this last edition by 'The Legacy Lap of Honor', two laps of honor – one without and one from behind the starting gate – for well-known father-son duos or trios from the rich history of Belgian motocross. Includes: Marnicq and Jarne Bervoets, Joël and Greg Smets, Dirk and Nick Geukens, Jo and Kenneth Martens, Marc and Michael Velkeneers, Jimmy, Travis and Troy Verburgh…
Another highlight will be the unique and undoubtedly emotional tribute to Joël Roelants.
With the Fun Bikes we are looking forward to, among other things: Niels Albert en Bert Longin. There will also be plenty to do next to the course. There is an indoor expo with (famous) classic dirt bikes, children's entertainment (bouncy castle, make-up, clowns, BMX fun park, balloon releases, etc.) and a giant summer BBQ for riders and fans on Monday evening (register in advance via evertsandfriends.be is mandatory). There will also be an autograph session with the famous athletes during the break. For the final winner in the 'Future Stars' category there is the Stefan Everts challenge trophy, a stone-carved replica of the last air-cooled engine block, complete with kick starter and spark plug head, that 'The Legend' rode.
FOR THE GOOD CAUSE
As with previous editions, the proceeds from the 'Everts & Friends Charity Race' will go entirely to charities selected by Stefan Everts that mainly focus on children and young people: A Heart for Limburg (45 opportunities-promoting projects for socially vulnerable children), Ter Heide (counselling center for persons with severe or multiple intellectual disabilities), MediClowns (hospital clowns), Bed net (which connects long-term and chronically ill children to their own school and classroom via the internet), The market (open campus for youth welfare), MPI De Dageraad (education for children and young people with moderate to severe mental disabilities), GOB Ter Engelen (specialized training and guidance center for, among others, young adults with few opportunities on the labor market) and Bethany (multifunctional center for school-age children and young people with emotional and behavioral problems).
To bring in extra money, be on the spot original FOX 'Everts & Friends' t-shirts and caps sold. Fans and sympathizers can once again support 'Everts & Friends' by 'becoming a friend' of the event and the charities online and donating 7,2 euros (or a multiple of 7,2 euros). A VIP ticket (for the proven formula with individual fixed tables, cold and hot buffet) costs 125 euros + VAT. More info on evertsandfriends.be

CALLING ALL S72 SUPPORTERS
Finally, this warm appeal to all fans of Stefan Everts and Belgian motocross: come to the Horensbergdam next Tuesday, it is really the very last time that our ten-time world champion will compete against top riders from the MXGP and MX2 class. And, despite having retired for nine years now, 'The Legend' is undoubtedly aiming for the stage again.
