Sunday the first edition of War on Wheels
This Sunday, May 10, 2015, will be the 1st edition WAR on WHEELS in 9960 Assenede. It is a new event but organized by familiar faces. Marlon Bauwens, co-organizer of the Traktorpulling event in Bassevelde and Jimmy Verburgh of FMX4EVER join forces and create something new together. A never-before-seen motorsport concept.
On WAR on WHEELS there will be one International FMX Contest combined with a Mobylett Cross and an Pick thresher race. It is the first time that Red Bull X-Fighter pilots from different countries will fight an FMX Battle on Belgian soil. In addition, there are FMX demos between the races. Mobylette races are currently extremely popular because it is an affordable way to race. The Mobylette pilots get the unique opportunity to race against their FMX heroes with equal resources. The Pikdorser races are very competitive and a guaranteed spectacle!
Marlon Bauwens is the owner of BM Grondwerken and he will be responsible, among other things, for the construction of the site in Assenede. Marlon had been contributing to the success of the Tracktorpulling in Bassevelde for years, which attracted approximately 3500 people every year. Jimmy Verburgh, owner and founder of the internationally renowned Freestyle Motocross Team – FMX4EVER, has already organized his own International Freestyle Show on home soil 7 times. Rock the Ramp can count on the cooperation of world stars every year. Last year, more than 3000 fans came to cheer on the legendary Robbie Maddison in Zelzate. Maddo is the best Motocross Stuntman in the world. Jimbo has organized Red Bull X-Fighters Jams in 4 countries with FMX50EVER.
The organizers therefore have a lot of experience in setting up successful parties. Despite the rainy weather that plagued both events in 2014, they still managed to treat the audience to an unforgettable show and an overwhelming experience. Together with a loyal group of employees and volunteers, we will ensure that the first edition of War on Wheels will be a smashing success that people will look forward to every year.
The track for the mobiles is in perfect condition! There are plenty of beautiful obstacles and there is a “Jokerlane”. Spectacle guaranteed for the drivers and public. More than 50 teams have already registered. You can still register via the website, www.waronwheels.be.
