The countdown has started to the World Championship Sidecars in Oldebroek
They have to wait another week, the volunteers of the Circuit Oldebroek Foundation. They have been busy for several months to ensure that the circuit is spick and span for the GP Sidecar Cross.
On Saturday May 23 and Monday May 25, the “de Bargen” circuit will be the battleground for the sidecar crossers who will compete for the world title. After matches in Switzerland, France, Spain and Germany, Oldebroek will host the fifth match in a series of 15 matches.
The weekend kicks off on Friday evening in the large party tent on Vreeweg. From 20:00 PM everyone is welcome for a pleasant evening with live Dutch music. Ancora, Harten 10, Martin Dams, Marco den Hollander and Harm Wolters will appear on stage.
On Saturday morning, the musical sounds and smell of beer and burgers will give way to the roar of engines and gasoline fumes. In addition to the GP drivers, the “Kids and Sidecars”, the Classic sidecar and the club class will also appear on the circuit. The GP riders train in two groups. The free training sessions start at 10:00 AM and 10:40 AM. The pre-qualifying will take place from 12:00. The real violence erupts at exactly 15:00 PM. Then the starting gate for the qualifying series of group A falls. An hour later it is group B's turn. To conclude the first day, the Last Chance will be held. In this timed training, the last starting tickets for the race day will be issued.
Monday morning starts like every GP weekend with a Warm-Up. For the GP riders this starts around 10:00 am. Before then, the “Kids and Sidecars”, Classis sidecars and the club class have already made their rounds. From 11:00 AM all fans can get an autograph from their heroes during the autograph session. Half an hour later, the official opening of the event will take place on the starting field. The competitions will then be held. The “Kids and Sidecars” kick off the event, followed by the ONK Quads. The starting gate for the first round of the GP Sidecars falls at 13:15 PM. The start of the second heat is at 16:00 PM. About XNUMX minutes later during the award ceremony, we know who has won the Grand Prix of the Netherlands. Later this week we will highlight the contenders!
