Seewer wants to continue improving and encouraging a Swiss GP
Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe rider Jeremy Seewer is one of the most progressive riders in MX2 in 2015. The twenty-year-old Swiss took his first podium place in his second season in the Grand Prix's. In 2014 he finished fourteenth in the Spanish Grand Prix, but this season he took a top ten place in Spain, which also proves that this athlete from Zurich has already taken the necessary steps forward.
“I struggled last year in Spain because I wasn't in a good physical condition, but in the first race I was able to keep pushing until the last laps and I also feel that I am fitter and that the speed is also better now,” he says. “Everything just has to come together to achieve a good result.”
The #91 benefits from being the only Suzuki factory rider in the MX2 class and can therefore fall back on the RM-Z250 technology with which Glenn Coldenhoff achieved podiums in 2014. This year is also the first time that Seewer is at the start as a full-time professional after completing his technical studies last year. With Arnaud Tonus under the wing of Pro Circuit Kawasaki in the United States and Standing Construct Yamaha rider Valentin Guillod winning his very first Grand Prix in Talavera de la Reina, Swiss motocross is currently in its strongest phase of this century. Jeremy Seewer is therefore the third rider in this powerful line-up that will ultimately and most likely be chosen for the Motocross of Nations.
Seewer, who turns 21 in July, is currently eighth in the rankings and finished tenth in his debut year, just eighteen points from the top five. He also knows that the next step is the top step of the podium. “I'm working on it too!” he emphasizes. “I have improved but I also still have a few years left in the MX2 class, so I don't want to put too much pressure on myself. Of course, the goal remains to finish at the top.”
