Mikkel Haarup and Constantin Piller continue to dominate!
Last weekend there was not only a battle for points in Spain, but also in the Netherlands German Culitzsch there was an international competition on the programme. The 65cc and 85cc riders from the North-West region competed against each other for important qualification points for the European Championship. This time there were slightly more Belgians at the start than usual. In the 65cc the usual duo Yoran Moens en Liam Evert and in the 85cc we got Glenn Bielen, Tallon Verhelst en Chiel Vanhaeren at the start.

Op Saturday There were a total of 65 riders in the 28cc class at the start of the qualifying series, so no two different groups. In this round it was the Dutchman Kay Karssemakers who took the victory ahead of the two Germans Nick Domann and Simon Langenfelder, championship leader Constantin Piller finished fifth. Our Belgians also did well, Liam Everts qualified 7th and Yoran Moens 20th.
Op Sunday we once again saw a well-known one-man show from Constantin Piller, he managed to win both heats and thus increased his lead in the North-West European Championship qualifying championship. His German colleague Simon Langenfelder managed to finish second in both heats. Winner of the qualifying round Kay Karssemakers was allowed on the podium, he finished the first round in fourth and the second round in third. Liam Everts picked up a number of important points for his qualification, finishing 8th overall with 27 points. Yoran Moens did better than on Saturday and finished in 16th place overall.

Due to the number of registrations, Saturday the 85cc class split into two groups. In group A we saw a very strong qualification from Glenn Bielen, he actually managed to take 4th place. The Dane Bastian Boegh Damm managed to win this qualifying round ahead of Anton Nagy and Raivo Dankers. Chiel Vanhaeren who was also in this group finished 19th in this qualifying series, which was just outside the qualifying zone. In group B it was Mikkel Haarup who won ahead of Rick Elzinga and Raf Meeuwissen, Tallon Verhelst came in 7th. In the last chance qualifying, which is a timed training and not a race, Chiel Vanhaeren set a 7th fastest time, unfortunately not enough for a place behind the starting gate on Sunday.
Op Sunday then we again saw a dominant Mikkel Haarup, the Dane wins both heats. The British Christopher Mills was second on the podium, he only had to finish fourth in the first moto and second in the second moto. Rick Elzinga had the holeshot in the first moto and eventually finished second, in the second moto he finished fifth, which was enough for a podium. Tallon Verhelst fell just outside the top 10, our compatriot had a slightly worse first moto with a 15th place, but recovered with a ninth place in the second moto. The other Belgian Glenn Bielen also had a hard time in the first heat, falling just outside the points, but in heat two he managed to cross the finish line in 18th.
With two games to go, it seems that Liam Everts is close to qualifying for the European Championship finals during the GP of Latvia. Tallon Verhelst is also only 13 points away from a top-10 ranking.
