French MX2 Grand Prix for Jeffrey Herlings
Jeffrey Herlings took his fourth win of the season in Villars-Sous-Ecot, France. It was certainly not a simple victory because he faced stiff resistance in the heats from Guillod on the one hand and Gajser on the other. But Herlings still emerges as the big winner and is now more than a hundred points ahead of Valentin Guillod in the standings.
Herlings wins a tasteful duel with Guillod…
It was Jeffrey Herlings who took the holeshot ahead of Herbreteau, Just, Tixier and Graulus. Jordi Tixier quickly settled into second place, behind him the Slovenian Tim Gajser. They continued to drive around like this for a while until leader Herlings made a mistake. The French crowd immediately went crazy because their compatriot and defending champion Jordi Tixier took the lead. But Valentin Guillod also passed the Dutchman into second place. Tixier was able to give the French hope for about six laps, but then it was Guillod's turn. Herlings immediately understood the message and a lap later also passed Tixier. So we had a duel between Guillod and Herlings because Tixier had to miss the role somewhat. Herlings went over the Swiss at the top of the circuit, but he immediately hit back. But Herlings would not be Herlings and just before the start of the last three laps the Dutchman took the lead. Guillod tried but had to give in and was stranded within less than two seconds. Tixier finished third, eleven seconds behind the winner. Gajser finished fourth and Petrov achieved his best result so far with fifth place. Our best compatriot was Julien Lieber who took eighth place. Damon Graulus started well but made a slide on the fourth lap and would still finish thirteenth, just ahead of Jens Getteman. Finally we got a nineteenth place for Kevin Fors.

Herlings controls Gajser and wins…
The holeshot was again for Jeffrey Herlings who preceded Tonkov and Gajser. Our compatriot Julien Lieber had already crashed during the start. But his teammate at the Standing Construct Valentin Guillod also crashed in the opening round together with our compatriot Damon Graulus. The Swiss Guillod, who finished second in the first series, had to immediately give chase. At the front, Herlings and Gajser drove further away from the competition lap by lap. The Slovenian Tim Gajser clearly did not grant Herlings an easy race, because he was constantly within two seconds of the Dutchman. She didn't have to worry at all about third man Jordi Tixier because he was already well behind. But Gajser still broke a little at the start of the last two laps and Herlings took the series victory as well as the GP victory. Tixier came third ahead of Jonass and Anstie. Valentin Guillod tried to save what could be saved in this second series and ultimately ended up in thirteenth place. Lieber took seventeenth place and Jens Getteman finished nineteenth after a fall. Kevin Fors quickly dropped out of the match.
