Dungey and Martin take victory in Thunder Valley National
In the Lucas Oil Pro Championship they were in the third event with the Thunder Valley National in Lakewood. It was certainly not the weekend for the leaders in the standings as both Eli Tomac (450) and Marvin Musquin (250) had a serious crash at the Thunder Valley circuit. This meant that both Ryan Dungey (250) and Jeremy Martin (250) seized their opportunity and with their victory they immediately became the new leaders in their class.
450 class
The leader in the standings Eli Tomac also seemed to be on his way to a new double, but in the second heat the Geico Honda rider went off very hard and had to be taken away by the medical team. This of course played into the hands of Ryan Dungey who took the win with a second place and a series victory and also became the new leader in the standings. Second place went to Ken Roczen who took a podium place for the first time this season. Third place went to Blake Baggett. The Frenchman Christophe Pourcel did not get further than eleventh and seventh place.
