Nothing can stop Van Horebeek + First photos!
Even though the season is not even half way yet, it already looks very likely that Jeremy Van Horebeek will extend his Belgian title. The second round of the Belgian Inters championship took place in the bois Brûle in Mons. Just like in Moerbeke, it was Jeremy Van Horebeek who took the day's victory. This time it was Ken De Dycker who took second place on the podium, and in third place we had the seven-time Belgian champion Steve Ramon on the podium.
Things immediately went wrong for Van Horebeek during the first heat. Over the first table mountain he came into contact with Yentel Martens in the air. When he landed, Jeremy lost control of the steering wheel and fell to the ground. Fortunately, his colleagues were all able to avoid him. For this duo it was Steve Ramon who took the holeshot ahead of Ken De Dycker. However, upon exiting the forest, Keeno had already put things in order and took over the lead. Ramon had established himself in second place and Yentel Martens in third. Championship leader Van Horebeek finished 17th at the first pass. The only achievement we can still report is the impressive comeback of 'The Jerre'. On the narrow circuit he manages to overtake a lot of riders and thus takes second place. The only rider he has to let go is Ken De Dycker. Steve Ramon finishes third, Yentel Martens fourth and Brent van Doninck is the best MX2 rider in fifth place.
In the second moto we again saw Steve Ramon take the holeshot. However, the Suzuki pilot soon saw Jeremy Van Horebeek and Ken De Dycker pass. These could determine who took the victory in the second heat. However, Jeremy Van Horebeek immediately made it clear that he and only he would take the victory. The Yamaha Rinaldi pilot set a blistering pace on his competition, putting Ken De Dycker ahead of more than twenty seconds. We got Steve Ramon across the finish line in third place. He stayed ahead of Ryan Houghton and Marvin Van Daele! With a sixth place overall, Brent Van Doninck finished as the first MX2 pilot in this round.
The third heat delivered more of the same. The man on the blue machine, Jeremy Van Horebeek, quickly managed to force the decision. His pace was too high for Ken De Dycker. Old faithful Steve Ramon managed to fight back from fifth place, past Yentel Martens and Marvin Van Daele, among others, to third place. This for a well-performing Brent Van Doninck who, with his fourth place overall, was the first MX2 pilot.
