Trey Canard out for the remainder of the Supercross season
Trey Canard, who suffered a broken left arm in Detroit on Saturday evening, will visit his personal physician in Oklahoma this week to review a recovery plan and the time it will take, following the HRC Honda team.
So Canard fell during the first 450SX Semi Final when Jake Weimer missed his jump and Canard landed on top of him. According to the latest reports, Weimer suffered a broken arm, a perforated lung and a concussion from this unfortunate fall.
Trey Canard : “It's a real setback to have to leave the Supercross Series in this way, especially since I felt I was having my best season yet,” he said. “It was a really hard crash, but it could have been worse and I really hope Jake (Weimer) does well. I am disappointed for the entire team, because they have worked so hard for me in recent years. The championship may have been out of reach, but with a few supercross victories we could have finished second, I think. Injuries are of course no fun, but there is nothing you can do about it. We will try to take care of ourselves as best as possible and then return healthy to the Nationals. I really appreciate the support from all the fans and look forward to seeing everyone again as soon as possible.”
Trey Canard is currently second in the SX450 championship, but will now miss the rest of the AMA Monster Energy Supercross series. It is not yet known when he will be ready to compete again in the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross.
