First round of French Championship contested! (+ Video)
Yesterday the first round of the French motocross championship was contested on the grand prix circuit of Saint Jean D'Angely. The competition, which was given the name '24MX Festival', could count on a strong field of participants. For example, in the MX1 class we found Xavier Boog, Nico Aubin, Jason Clermont, Valentin Teillet, Fabien Izoird, but also the Belgian Daymond Martens.
In the first heat, Valentin Teillet was present to take the victory ahead of Xavier Boog and Nicolas Aubin. To then see Xavier Boog win both remaining heats. The BUD Kawasaki pilot outpaced Nicolas Aubin and Valentin Teillet in the second moto. In the third round (also a super final), Jason Clermont managed to finish second ahead of MX2 pilot Maxime Desprey.
This Maxime Desprey, a teammate of Xavier Boog, had already won two heats prior to this super final. This for Nicolas Dercourt and Cedric Soubeyras, riding a 2B Yamaha and entering the MX2 class.
Our compatriot Daymond Martens finished seventh overall in the MX1 class. This on the Saint Jean D'Angely course, a course that differs enormously from Le Touquet beach where the same Daymond Martens already finished second a few weeks ago.
