Adrien Van Beveren wins again in Le Touquet, Daymond Martens second
It was once again a very tough edition of Le Touquet. However, a cold but strong wind could not touch the hundreds of riders and many tens of thousands of fans to celebrate this anniversary edition.
After a holeshot from last year's winner Van Beveren, Yentel Martens came back into Le Touquet as the leader at the end of the first lap. Yentl went really fast but eventually had to deal with technical problems in the third round. Marc de Reuver also had to stop the fight early after a fall, he reportedly suffered a concussion. At the front, Steve Ramon quickly took the lead with Van Beveren in his wake. Things didn't end well for Steve either, he had to retire on the fourth lap with a broken engine. And so it went for many other top riders… Lahousse, Meo, Boog and many others were unable to finish the race.
Axel van de Sande also rode a very strong race. He was at the front until a few laps before the finish, but then also had to abandon the battle.
The one who rode a fantastic race today was Daymond Martens. Martens, who triumphed in the Junior Enduro-Pale two years ago, confirmed this year by finishing second. A strong performance from the 19-year-old rider from Chimay
