No Italian championship for the KRT drivers
While it looks like almost every MXGP factory team will be at the start of the first round of the Italian Championship in Riola Sardo at the end of the month, Ryan Villopoto's long-awaited debut on European soil will not take place in the sand from Sardinia.
It appears that the KRT team will not participate in this race, and unlike the KTM, Yamaha, Honda and Husqvarna team, will not test on the Italian island. Vollopen and his teammate Rattray have so far been able to enjoy the ideal conditions in the US to prepare. In addition to them, Suzuki riders Desalle, Strijbos and Coldenhoff are also preparing on American soil.
It is still unknown when the AMA MX and SX champion will compete for the first time on European soil. In the past, the KRT team has always had the international competition in Valence on the calendar and it could well be that this will be their first competition in the preparations for the World Cup that starts in Qatar at the end of February. Last year the competition in Valence was canceled after heavy rain in France. This year the competition will take place on February 14-15.
