SX Geneva: Swiss Prince, French King!
Today, Saturday, the last evening of the Geneva supercross took place. The SX2 class again saw a very strong Valentin Guillod. The brand new Yamaha pilot, who is still in the introductory phase with his new love, started Saturday with a victory. The Swiss achieved this victory by staying ahead of Arnaud Aubin and Yannis Irsuti. In the second heat we saw the prime candidate for the title of 'Prince of Geneva' make a dramatic start and crash in the first corner. As a result, Valentin Guillod did not play for the victory, this victory went to Jimmy Decotis. The American, who finished 7th in the East Coast 250 Supercross championship this season, was faster than Yannis Irsuti and Josse Sallefranque. Valentin Guillod had already fought his way to fourth place, a place that was enough for the Standing Construct pilot to secure the title of 'Prince of Geneva'.
Among the SX1 boys, one man was just a little too strong, that man was called Marvin Musquin all weekend. The Frenchman employed by KTM took the holeshot and with that everything has been told. From start to finish, Marvin Musquin was boss. Fortunately, there was something interesting to follow in the background. Loic Rombaut had started like a cannon and was in second place. With a speed that was not very high, Rombaut ensured that Hill, Aranda, Soubeyras, Izoird, Teillet and a few others all stuck together. In addition, the first man in the match, Marvin Musquin, was given part of his lead. Yet Loic Rombaut was difficult to persuade and when Josh Hill had finally broken down the door, the flow of pilots rushing past the well-started Frenchman could no longer be stopped. Josh Hill and Greg Aranda then had a bit of a fight with each other. Both were quite interested in second place after Musquin, but in the end it was Aranda who showed himself to be the strongest and referred the eldest of the Hill brothers to third place. Fabien Izoird and Cedric Soubeyras completed the top five.
For Cedric Soubeyras, this fifth place was immediately enough to finish second on the final podium, after of course the new 'King of Geneve' Marvin Musquin, and the American Josh Hill.
