PR: Preview RES 2 hours and RES 3 hours edition 2014
It's that time again, just a few more nights of sleep.
The RES 2 hours and 3 hours are just around the corner.
Saturday, October 25, there will be competition again in teams of 2 or 3 riders: who will complete the most laps in the heavy Axel sand.
In the RES 2 hours the 65cc and 85cc riders will compete.
No fewer than 14 teams have already been registered with notable names such as: Mack Bouwense/Dailey van de Ketterij, Ian de Sweemer/Tallon Verhelst/Rick Elsinga and the reigning champion VEPIX.be team; Wesly Smolders/Marcel Conijn/Max Schwarte.
But we should certainly not underestimate the regional men who will certainly do their utmost to get on the podium at their home circuit, such as Timo Dhanis/Avo Tack, Rutger de Rijcke/Floris van Gremberghe/Maicky Bonsel. Everything falls or stands with a bit of luck and whether the engines continue to perform well mechanically.
There is still room to register for this class, so register 65cc and 85cc now via the link on our RES site.
The 2 hours will start at 9am with training until 9.30am.
At exactly 10.00 a.m. the horn will sound, signaling the start of walking to the engine, start and go.
As long as the substitutions go well?
All exciting.
So at 12.00 noon sharp, the flag will be flagged off after 2 hours.
This year too, the circuit has been slightly adjusted again to create enough space to enter and exit the pit lane properly and safely to go to the change zone, where people are eagerly waiting to transfer the transponder as a spare part.
When registering for the RES 3 hours, there is always a competition to see who can be the first 40 teams to complete this series.
After all, there is only room for 40 teams, so full=full.
A number of other teams are currently on the reserve list in case teams or drivers have to cancel.
Here too, there are some notable names who are anxiously waiting to see whether any teams will cancel so that they can participate.
We therefore assume that there will be at least 40 teams at the Le Mans start.
Which team will go for the cup and honor this year? Teams like AMC Evergem with Jeffrey Dewulf/Steven Seronval/Pascal Bal or the MC Mikkola teams with Mark Boot/Matthias van Roy/Donny Schmidt and Alain Voermans/Melvin Clarinval/Keani Clement will certainly go for it, as well as team Simply with Jens Getteman/ Kristof van Vaerenberg/Tallon Huylebroek are fast!
The regional men will also provide the necessary tension here with teams such as Thomas Adriaanse/James Stewart, Kevin van Houdt/Wilko de Booij/Laurens de Ridder, but also Guido Boone/Peter Boone/Bart Klijn and Tom Cortvriendt/Jules Adam/ Jarne Robijn will not let them eat the cheese off their bread. There is even a women's team registered with 2 riders, Karin Adriaanse/Danielle van Kempen. Respect in advance that they dare to embark on this adventure with 2 ladies.
The 3-hour team will train from 12.15:13.00 PM - XNUMX:XNUMX PM.
The start is at 13.30:3 PM, where the flag will fall after 16.30 hours, so at XNUMX:XNUMX PM.
Furthermore, we wish all riders not mentioned the same chance and good luck!
Nothing can be predicted in advance!
All riders wear a jersey number with the team number on it, so that it is easy for the public to follow.
There will also be a monitor on the mountain near the drinks cart and in the pits where the race can be followed.
Match report will be done by the one and only “MR. Leon van Gestel”.
The RedBull promotion team will also be present on this day.
So there's every reason to come to Smitsschorre this Saturday and enjoy a beautiful motocross spectacle at RES Axel.
Free admission for the public.
We hope for another successful edition with a lot of excitement and, above all, a lot of audience and fun.
Until then!
With sporty greetings,
RES Axel
