Davi Millsaps wins MEC in Las Vegas
The magical prize pool of 1 million dollars did not leave its vault yesterday in Las Vegas. However, Trey Canard was well on his way to winning the big pot after victories in the first two finals, but two crashes in the last final ensured that Davi Millsaps took victory in his first race of 2014 on his new Kawasaki. He had to be satisfied with $100.000 but made a statement with a view to next season. Eli Tomac finished second in the final standings and Trey Canard finished third.
Defending champion James Stewart did not participate after he was suspended due to his positive doping sample earlier this year. However, it is still unclear what the effective consequences will be for the Suzuki rider.
Another surprise of the evening was Justin Hill. Hill, riding the 450 for the occasion, finished second in the first two finals. A fall at the start of the third series spoiled his chances of victory.
Dylan Ferrandis was the only GP rider at the start of the MEC. He finished eighteenth in the final standings.
Jarryd Mcneil won the best whip competition
