The game is on! Jeffrey Herlings travels to Mexico
The topic of conversation in recent weeks was undoubtedly Jeffrey Herlings. Jeffrey fell during Everts and Friends and broke his thigh. It looked like Herlings would no longer be able to defend his title due to this injury, but then the news came that the Dutchman would do everything he could to still be in Mexico. After a few weeks, videos emerged showing Herlings already walking without crutches and the hope grew. When the news came last week that he was suffering from an infection, everything seemed to fall apart again. But now the opposite has been confirmed. Jeffrey Herlings is still traveling to Mexico!
Ortema worked overnight to fit Jeffrey with a special carbon brace and Jeffrey tried to ride the bike on Tuesday. The decision was then made to travel to Mexico. Speaking of perseverance…
Pit Beirer: We are cautiously satisfied that Jeffrey has been given the green light by the doctors to drive in Mexico. It will be very difficult for him after this healing process and he is certainly not as fit as before the injury, but we think he deserves a chance to defend himself in the fight for the title.
KTM hereby wishes both of their riders the best of luck in the fight for the title, which is certainly for one of them.
So may the best win next Sunday!
