Jordi Tixier MX2 World Champion!!!
Jordi Tixier has managed to take the world title in the MX2 class. The Frenchman rode like a worthy world champion. After his win in the first series, things did not go so well in the revival and he had to do everything he could to take the title with a lead of just four points. Jeffrey Herlings, who had traveled to Mexico, did what he could, but due to the discomfort of his injury and the associated pain, it was no longer possible for our northern neighbor. Herlings is therefore four points from third to one next world title, which he now has to leave to his teammate Jordi Tixier.
Tixier wins, Herlings has a hard time…
It was Wilvo Negaan Husqvarna rider Romain Febvre who took the holeshot in this first series. But it was Jordi Tixier who took over the lead just as quickly with the one goal of eliminating as many points as possible from his deficit to Jeffrey Herlings. Jeffrey Herlings, who decided to travel to Mexico, was in twelfth place after one lap. But we immediately got a picture of a Herlings who struggled more with themselves than with the competition. Due to circumstances the driving did not go very smoothly and it seemed to be a very difficult task for Herlings. At the front, Tixier did what he had to do and that was try to win the series and get the maximum points. Yet he encountered a lot of resistance from Romain Febvre, who stuck in his tracks and sometimes launched a serious attack. But Tixier kept everything under control and three laps from the end he even doubled Jeffrey Herlings. As a result, Tixier also dealt Herlings a mental blow. Jordi Tixier won this first series and came within five points of leader Jeffrey Herlings, who only finished fourteenth. Our compatriot Julien Lieber also had a strong run and finished seventh behind Standing Constuct teammate Valentin Guillod.

Jordi Tixier World MX2 Champion after a real thriller…
The holeshot went to Jordi Tixier, but Tonkov jumped behind Jordi Tixier in the opening lap. Both riders crashed and Tonkov even got his arm stuck between Tixier's motorcycle. Once Tonkov was released, Tixier could continue his way. But Herlings had also seen this and that of course gave him hope again. Tixier therefore had to chase to bridge the five-point gap on Jeffrey Herlings. The Dutchman therefore followed in Tixier's footsteps. But this only lasted a few laps before Tixier had broken free and was in the wake of Tonus, Febvre, Coldenhoff and Lieber. Of course it didn't go so smoothly, but Tixier chose the right moment to launch his attack. Only in the duel for third place with our compatriot Lieber did things almost go wrong for Tixier. Lieber and Tixier touched each other while passing and luckily for Tixier he stayed upright. Otherwise he could forget about the world title, because Herlings was still in eighth place and the difference was only two points in favor of Tixier. So it could have gone either way, but Herlings really struggled in the last four laps and lost two more places. Herlings would eventually finish tenth and therefore had to leave the world title to Jordi Tixier, who became the new world champion in the MX2 class with a four-point lead.
