INSIGHT: MX2 Champion Jordi Tixier
September 14, 2014 may be a day to remember for the Frenchman of the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team. It is therefore the day that Jordi Tixier will go into the history books as the new MX2 World Champion 2014.
The always friendly, cheerful 21-year-old Jordi Tixier won his very first world title in the MX2 class in true thriller style in the very last Grand Prix of the season. Due to the absence of teammate Jeffrey Herlings, who was eliminated due to a thigh fracture. The pressure for the world title fell on the shoulders of Jordi Tixier. There were some doubts about whether Tixier could handle that pressure. But in the last race for the world title, Tixier certainly showed that he could handle that pressure. The difference with the unfortunate Jeffrey Herlings was only four points. Yet Jordi Tixier ended the season as a worthy MX2 World Champion.
