Van Horebeek finally takes his deserved GP victory...!!!
Jeremy Van Horebeek has finally taken his GP victory in the MXGP. After countless podium finishes throughout the season, we have finally managed to move one step higher on the podium. After a nerve-wracking second series, “The Jerre” managed to beat Cairoli in a direct duel and thus finally earned a deserved Grand Prix victory. Second place also had a Belgian touch in Loket with Kevin Strijbos who already won the opening series.
Kevin Strijbos dominates first series...
Frenchman Milko Potisek took the holeshot ahead of Strijbos, Ferris, Desalle and Cairoli. Even before the end of the opening lap, Clement Desalle took the lead ahead of his teammate Kevin Strijbos. But Jeremy Van Horebeek also immediately passed Cairoli into third place. After three laps, Strijbos thought it was time to take the lead from his teammate. This was also the signal for Van Horebeek to take it a step further and he also passed Desalle a few laps later. Clement Desalle clearly could not keep up with the pace at the front and also had to let Cairoli and Nagl go ahead. At the front, Strijbos had a firm grip on the lead and Van Horebeek was also at a safe distance from third man Cairoli. So the top three were also flagged off and Max Nagl came in fourth. Only for fifth place did we see a nice duel and it was Shaun Simpson who kept the returning Paulin and Desalle behind him. Finally, we got Ken De Dijcker in fifteenth place.

Van Horebeek wins and takes the GP victory…
Milko Potisek and Gautier Paulin immediately crashed into the starting gate, but it was Antonio Cairoli who took the holeshot ahead of Ullrich, Strijbos and Van Horebeek. The top three of the first series were immediately at the front. Cairoli is in the lead with the two Belgians in his wake, Van Horebeek and Strijbos. The current leader in the standings set the pace and only our two Belgians could join us. Behind it was the German Ullrich, but we had to wait a while for number five in the race Dean Ferris. Cairoli tried but could not get our compatriots off his trail. Lap after lap they kept up the high pace until we reached the closing minutes of the race. Van Horebeek then launched the ultimate attack on Cairoli's position in the very last minutes and it was immediately successful. With two laps to go we got to see a really nerve-wracking ending. But Van Horebeek did everything he could to bring this to a successful conclusion and thus won his very first GP in the MXGP class. Cairoli even had to scramble to keep the oncoming Kevin Strijbos behind him. Our other compatriots, Ken De Dijcker did not finish the race and Clement Desalle did not even start in this second series.
