Dutch injury news GC259 & DP46
The Dutch will go to Lommel with mixed feelings. Davy Pootjes who, as dominant as he was, seemed to be storming towards the 125cc title, dislocated his shoulder during training in Olmen. They will see again on the other side Glen Coldenhoff appear at the start after his lingering injury.
Davy Pootjes
The brand new addition to the RedBull KTM factory team will no longer be in action in 2014, at least not on a 125cc. The super talent from Ammerzoden dislocated his shoulder during training in Olmen, which completely ruined his chances of winning the 125cc title. After a visit to the specialist in Eeklo, the only solution for this injury appears to be surgery. Davy will get an extra piece of bone on his shoulder blade, which will make it more difficult for the shoulder to dislocate later. Due to this procedure, Pootjes will be off the motorcycle for two months. After these two months, testing will begin immediately with the 2015 MX2 factory engine and preparations for the next season will begin.
Glen Coldenhoff
We have better news to report about Glen. The Rockstar Europe Suzuki factory rider will make his return in Lommel after a long-term injury. A serious injury to his knee was the verdict after a crash in preparation for the Valkenswaard GP. Coldenhoff has now been riding the bike for a month and despite a hand injury he sustained during his rehabilitation, he now feels fit enough to participate in the Lommel GP. Then Glen may not even be 100%, in the absence of compatriot Jeffrey Herlings I see him as a dangerous candidate for the GP victory!
