EMX250: The Netherlands on top of Finland!!!
In Hyvinkää, Finland, we had the sixth and penultimate test for the European EMX250 Championship. It was the Netherlands that was all the rage there in the far North. After his victory in Sweden last week, Brian Bogers again took the final victory in Finland. His compatriots Ceriel Klein Kromhof and Nick Kouwenberg completed the Dutch success on the podium. So it was a total Dutch party on the Hyvinkään Vauhtipuisto circuit in Finland.
Our compatriot Brent Van Doninck started strongly in Finland and won the first series ahead of Brian Bogers. But unfortunately he could not capitalize on that in the second series and the Creymert Racing Team rider was only flagged in eighteenth. That gave him seventh place in the daily rankings.
In the standings of the EMX250 European Championship, it promises to be exciting with only one test to go. The British Steven Clarke only has a small lead of barely eleven points over the Dutchman Brian Bogers. Knowing that the last test will be held in the Lommel sandbox, the Lowlanders have a bit more of an advantage than the British leader in the standings. We find Brent Van Doninck in fifth place and six points behind third man, the British Ben Watson.
The next race for the EMX250 is in Lommel, Belgium on August 2 & 3.
