RedBull straight line is now officially a competition!
Last year everyone was amazed at RedBull's new invention for off-road motorsport. The Red Bull straight line was something completely new for this sport. The best supercross riders in the world competed against each other on one long rhythm section of about 800 meters and without bends. They were not all at the start at the same time as we are used to, but the competitions became one Vs. one driven. Last year it was just play, but this year it's serious.
Last year, RedBull made a beautiful video (video below) about their new invention. With riders like James and Malcolm Stewart, Ryan Dungey, Marvin Musquin, Cole Seely, Jessy Nelson... they made it a fun day with the bike. Unlike other times, this time there were no corners to be taken. The circuit they had to ride on was a gigantic straight stretch of about 800m that consisted of one long rhythm section. Then both the public and the drivers responded very enthusiastically and this year RedBull is pushing this to the limit.
The RedBull Straight line will become a real competition from this year onwards. On October 4, the 32 best supercross riders in the world will take on this challenge. The Fairplex car club raceway will be transformed into a true supercross heaven... but without the corners. The competition will be very simple. The riders take it in one Vs. one competitions against each other and the best rider from 3 races advances to the next round. The best thing about all this is that we can still watch it, so NBC will include this in their RedBull signature series programming. In any case, we are looking forward to seeing which supercross rider has the most rhythm and can handle the pressure best!
