De Reuver Dutch MX1 champion!
The last round of the 'Open Dutch Championship' was held in Oldebroek in the Netherlands last Monday. After it was known one round before the end that Romain Febvre in the MX2 class and Jago Geerts in the 85cc class were the Dutch champions, everyone now wanted to know who could be crowned MX1 and 125cc champion.
Dutch top talent Davy Pootjes was in pole position to win the 'ONK' title in the 125cc class. A fantastic starting position that the Factory KTM pilot did not miss. Two victories in Oldebroek gave him the prestigious title and the title battle was ahead of Pootjes, Max Engelen and Cyril Genot. These were also the pilots who finished second and third in the day overall in Oldebroek.
Marc De Reuver in turn, after a strong season, was on his way to a more than deserved Dutch title. The BT Honda pilot had to leave the day's victory to South African Tyla Rattray, who only needed a first and second place to stay ahead of De Reuver (3-1). He finished second in the daily results, a result that was more than enough to win the Dutch title. The podium became completely international with Shaun Simpson's third place.
The 85cc class was offered a major thriller between the well-known competitors, Jago Geert & Jorge Prado Garcia. The Spaniard managed to win both heats and thus also won the overall classification ahead of Jago Geerts, who finished in second place twice. Third place went to the Dutchman Roan van de Moosdijk.
In the MX2 class, due to the absence of the Wilvo-Nestaat Factory Husqvarna team, the brand new ONK MX2 champion was also absent. Who was present was the dominant Jeffrey Herlings who of course won both heats ahead of Petar Petrov. In the overall daily ranking we find Brian Bogers and Paul Jonass both with 38 points. However, it was Brian Bogers who was allowed to climb the podium due to his better result in the second heat.
