Kevin Begois tests the modified Oldebroek circuit!
Kevin Begois, the Belgian reserve goalkeeper of PEC Zwolle, has been a big motocross fan for years. On Monday April 26, he exchanged his goalkeeper outfit for a motocross outfit for a one-off recording of PEC TV and Fox TV and he turned out to have a necessary dose of talent!
How does a Belgian goalkeeper end up on a motorcycle? Kevin Begois' father used to race cross country himself. So when Kevin didn't have to play football himself, he could be found on the cross circuit where he cheered on his father and later his friends. By chance, Kevin met Brabant rider William Saris during a rehabilitation process. The two got along well and became close friends. They still attend each other's matches, if their overcrowded schedules allow it. Kevin has already made some progress on William's motorcycle, so there was no real baptism of fire on the circuit of Stichting Circuit Oldebroek
After a brief explanation, the enthusiastic Belgian was able to start WillemJan van Werven's Yamaha and the 31-year-old finisher rode away without any problems. He was clearly looking forward to it because the brand new cup winner rode around as if he had been a motocross rider for years. The Fox cameramen were forced to sprint several times in order to capture everything perfectly. At the end of the training session, the goalkeeper had learned enough and jumped over the table several times and tested a new jumping ramp on the starting field under the watchful eye of the mayor of Oldebroek, the chairman of the SCO and some volunteers. Finally, he took off his helmet after some fancy wheelies and gave another interview for Fox TV.
Kevin himself will also be a guest on June 9, Whit Monday, when the final competition for the ONK Solo Motocross MX2 and MX-1 will be held at the Bargen circuit in Oldebroek.
