Preview RES Axel weekend (bmb & fpcna)
This weekend makes it RES circuit in Axel a true first because for the first time since a double program is planned on the Zeeland circuit. With the Leisure Riders and the youth of the FPCNA on Saturday and the BMB match on Sunday it will be pleasantly busy in Axel.
Organizer Amc Evergem Since then, we have been able to gather a good field of participants because in addition to the Belgian Championship trials for all series, the third round of the challenger trophy is also on the program. When registering we see the regular participants such as favorites Kristof Salaets, Andy Truyts and Marvin Vandaele, but in Axel they are supplemented by Julien Van Stippen, Jeremy Coen, Arnaud Wauters and home rider Jordi Vandewiele from the Dirt Bike team of Nicolas Stampaert. In addition, Gunther Ghysels, Yentel Martens, home rider Mark Boot and sand specialist Axel Vandesande also registered. A lot of Dutch people are present from abroad, led by Mike Kras and William Saris. In addition, the Finns have also traveled to Zeeland and we are mainly looking forward to Le Toucquet winner Adrien Van Beveren, who will ride his first cross competition after his famous victory. Polish hopeful Simon Staszkiewicz also chose this race over the European Championships in Italy, but he will now make his debut at the Nationals 125 cc.
It will be a unique opportunity for the home audience to see their local heroes such as Kevin Spruijt, Boy Stockman, Jordan Lee Van Maaren, the Oova brothers or Kevin Van Houdt perform at top level in their own backyard.
The renovated circuit will have its baptism of fire this weekend because the RES Axel employees have already prepared the circuit for the ONK competition that will take place two weeks later. The BMB riders will therefore have the scoop of riding on the new circuit for the first time.
The riders' park opens its doors on Friday at 17 p.m. and the first chrono training sessions start as always at 09 a.m.
