SX450 :
Ryan Villopoto has ended James Stewart's winning streak. With the holeshot immediately in the final, there was little to be done against this Villopoto. The current leader in the standings made it a nice start-finish victory in Houston. Behind Villopoto's back, it was Justin Barcia and Ken Roczen who took the stage as number two and three. Fourth place went to Trey Canard and James Stewart rounded out the top five. This James Stewart won the previous three races, but started sick in Houston and was therefore unable to go all out. The biggest casualty in Houston was Ryan Dungey, who crashed in the opening lap and had to advance from the background to an eventual seventh place.

In Houston, after about seven weeks of rest, it was the turn of the boys from the West Coast. It was the leader in the standings Jason Anderson who digested this short break best and immediately took the victory in the Reliant Stadium in Houston. Third place went to Malcolm Stewart who outpaced teammate Cole Seely. Seely did not do well in the fight for the title and lost seven points to leader Jason Anderson here in Houston.
