ONK in Axel can count on many top players
RES Axel will receive the KNMV Open Dutch Championship (ONK) Motocross for the second time in three years. The club does this with bravado. In addition to a meticulously groomed course on which volunteers work from morning to evening, the organization can also count on a wonderful field of participants.
So will two-time world champion Jeffrey herlings even made his first Dutch competition meters of the season in Zeeland. This was due to Herling's absence due to illness in Emmen and the injury he sustained in the morning in Mill. Also will Jordy Tixier, teammate of Herlings and vice world champion in competition.
However, Jeffrey Herlings should not expect victory as a gift. The leader in ONK MX2, Glenn Coldenhoff, will certainly sell his skin dearly. The Suzuki pilot is determined to show that he cannot win alone in the absence of 'The Bullet'. In addition to these two crowd-pullers, who color the podium at the Grand Prix's, we are looking forward to the pilots of the Wilvo Negaan Husqvarna team and the Kemea Yamaha team. These teams want to with respective Romain Febvre en Alexander Tonkov on the one hand and Luke Style en Petar Petrov on the other hand, claim a leading role.
In the MX1 class, 'RES Axel' can announce the participation of two former world champions. So will Steve Ramon to join the battle for the Dutch title. In addition, the Ice One Husqvarna team with former MX2 world champion will also appear Tyla Rattray and his teammate Todd Waters at the start. With these boys we can also add the fixed ONK values such as Joel Roelants, Marc De Reuver en Mike Kras. The latter two are in a fierce battle for the title. With only one point separating the two sides, it promises to be a very interesting afternoon in Axel!
Ad Colijn from RES Axel looks forward to April 26 with hope: 'With Jeffrey Herlings and Glenn Coldenhoff we have the two fastest sand pilots in the world. Being able to see these at work against each other on our course will be wonderful! It also makes us very happy that we can present an icon like Steve Ramon in the MX1 to the visitors. Take this together with the participation of Tyla Rattray (2 MX2008 World Champion) and his teammate Todd Waters (7de in the MXGP World Championship). An increasingly better performing Joel Roelants and the extremely exciting duel for the title between Mike Kras and Marc De Reuver, separated by only one point. Then the ONK here in Axel can only be a great day!'
To make it a great day, the Lageweg will become one-way on April 26. The route is best approached via Adriaan van Ostadeweg. Follow the signposts for this. The entrance fee will be 20 euros, as usual during the Open Dutch Championship. Children between the ages of 12 and 16 can enter at a reduced rate of 10 euros. Those under 12 enter for free. Training starts at 9.00:12.30 am, the matches start around XNUMX:XNUMX pm! You can find all further information on our RES site; www.resaxel.nl
