The 'Jerre' reigns supreme at the first BMMX in Mons
Just before noon, the Inters Open was launched for the first time on the 'Mons' course. It was Kevin Strijbos, who almost traditionally took the holeshot in this qualifying heat. Following in his footsteps were Yamaha pilots Jeremy Van Horebeek & Jeremy Delincé. We soon got a duel between Kevin Strijbos and Jeremy Van Horebeek. A duel that was settled in favor of Van Horebeek. Strijbos seemed to settle him with second place. For third place, a few laps before the end we had a very exciting duel on the edge between a returning Joel Roelants and Jeremy Delince. At the finish line it was Delincé who took this duel with only one hundredth in front. on its competitor Roelants.
After the qualifying heat it was time for the real work. Time to score points for the 'Belgian Masters of Motocross'. Once again, just like in the qualifying heat, we saw Kevin Strijbos take the holeshot. This for, among others, Jeremy Van Horebeek and Steve Ramon. However, Ramon was involved in a crash and fell back many places. So we got Joel Roelants on three, Julien Lieber on four and the unknown Ryan Houghton on five.
However, all of the aforementioned were unable to follow the leading duo of Strijbos – Van Horebeek. They both made a great show of it. However, 'The Jerre' used a known recipe. Just like in the qualifying heat, the Yamaha Rinaldi pilot spent the lion's share of the race in the wheel of Kevin Strijbos. And then with a final blow, the Rockstar Energy Suzuki pilot took his lead. For example, we saw Jeremy Van Horebeek win the first 'BMMX' series of the 2014 season ahead of Kevin Strijbos and Joel Roelants.
The second series of the 'Belgian Masters of Motocross' in Mons started again with a holeshot by Kevin Strijbos. But once again it was Jeremy Van Horebeek who was immediately on the wheel of the Suzuki pilot. This time, however, Van Horebeek wasted no time. The Yamaha pilot immediately took control and started his demonstration. KS22 initially gave the impression that it could follow, but after a mishap in the woods, the man from Wuustwezel fell back to eighth place, eventually finishing in fifth place. The victory went so easily to the impressive Jeremy Van Horebeek who beat Joel Roelants by the minute. An overjoyed Marvin Van Daele finished in third place. With this fantastic result, the full-time postman managed to keep Jeremy Delincé, Kevin Strijbos, Steve Ramon and Julien Lieber behind him.
The day's ranking at the Inters Open was logically won by Jeremy Van Horebeek. This for Joel Roelants (3-2) and Kevin Strijbos (2-5).
