MXM; Jilani, you now drive VMCF, that association has undergone a complete metamorphosis, what do you think of the adjustments?
I feel great in the VMCF, everyone is doing their utmost to make everything go as well as possible. I hope that the federation has a bright future and that we can still participate in many competitions.
MXM; Safety on training circuits is under fire more than ever, what do you think is a realistic solution to increase safety?
To start with, the biggest problem is that there are far too few training circuits in Belgium, an hour arrangement such as in Genk would also solve a lot between beginners and pros. They could also perhaps hang yellow flags on every mountain or dangerous section so that a spectator can flag in the event of a fall.
MXM; Until this year you were a loyal 2-stroke rider. Have you not thought about participating in the European Championship 300cc?
Yes, I have always ridden two strokes and when we heard about this story we wanted to participate. I trained and tested it all winter, but it didn't work as well as we had hoped. We switched to the 450cc for this year before the races had started, so far I have no regrets when I saw the list of participants for the European Championship 300 in Bulgaria, barely 12 men. This year we will stay in Belgium for a while and the imba competitions.
I would like to thank the following people: my parents, my girlfriend, uncle Ronnie, our mother, the JDS team, Acerbis benelux, Owen roofing, Mika metals, Lucas Oil, Center wheels and DAM racing. Also thanks for this interview!!
