Green Flag 2014 #8 – March 30
Last weekend, many more races were contested than just the AMA Supercross in Saint Louis and the Motocross World Championship in Brazil. As usual, we will catch you up again after the weekend!
The Flemish amateur federations were again in action all over the country! This is how the VMCF settled in Genk. The rich inter-class saw a dominant Jilani Cambré who took the day's victory with two series victories, ahead of Yerki Janvier who was good for two third places. Stijn Verstrepen finished in third place in the daily rankings due to his fifth and second place in the series. You can consult the full results at Mylaps.com
Another amateur federation, the VLM, in turn settled on the legendary Keiheuvel. This beautiful setting ensured a great turnout among both the public and pilots. In the MX2 we saw occasional VLM rider Andy Truyts take the victory with a second place and a first place. Jonathan Banken in turn finished first and second and was good for second place in the overall rankings! The top three was completed by Sven Scheynen, who managed to stay ahead of Robin Bakens and Dietger Damiaans with his fourth and third place. In the MX1 class the victory went to Latvian Jasikonis Arminas. He won both series. In the overall standings he stayed ahead of Marvin Vandaele, who managed to finish third and second in the heats. Wesley Verheyen managed to claim third place in the overall standings with a second and sixth place. You can find all the results of the VLM on the boulder hill right here.
Our friends from the MCLB in turn went to work in Velzeke. As usual, the Inters MX1-MX3 A was won by Steve Seronval who took two series victories. Manuel Priem (4-2) and Jeffrey Dewulf (3-3) were allowed on stage, next to the master of the MCLB, Steve Seronval! Torpjun van Hoe in turn took victory in the MX2 Inters category. He won both heats ahead of Wietse Brackman and Sven Roelandt. You can find all results regarding the MCLB in Velzeke read here.
A round of the National Youth Championship was contested in Arkel, Netherlands. In the 85cc class, 15-year-old Youri van t'Ende, who previously also won the 2-hour cross of Axel for the VePix team, won. Due to his 15 years of age, Youri is no longer eligible to compete in the ONK85. In the NK85cc in Arkel, however, he stayed ahead of Sergi Notario Lopez and Marcel Conijn with his second and first place. Our compatriot Tallon Verhelst also performed more than creditably with his ninth place overall! You can also find the results of the National Championships in Arkel at MyLaps
A round for the ONK Sidecars was also contested in the Netherlands, but in Halle. The duo Jan Hendrickx & Elvijs Mucenieks came out on top with a second and first place. This meant they stayed ahead of their competitors Ben Adriaenssen & Ben van den Bogaart and Etienne Bax & Kaspars Stupelis. Daniel Willemsen & Hans Tjoink finished twenty-fourth and last. Today Daniel Willemsen announced that the collaboration between him and Hans Tjoink is over. In addition to the Sidecars, the Quads were also at work in Halle. Local hero Mike van Grinsven won both heats, beating Joe Maessen and Stefan Schreiber. Our compatriot Davy de Cuyper finished fourth overall, Kelly Verbraeken eleventh.
