Ryan Villopoto takes the win in Phoenix…
Ryan Villopoto has won the Phoenix Supercross for the first time. After a poor start, he eventually took the victory and immediately became the new leader in the standings. The winner of Anaheim I Ken Roczen crashed in the final and still finished sixth. In the Lites, the win went back to Jason Anderson who was once again able to beat Cole Seely in the final round.

It was Matt Moss who took the holeshot ahead of Nicholas Wey and Justin Brayton. After the opening lap we had Brayton in the lead ahead of Dungey and Barcia, Ken Roczen in fifth place and Ryan Villopoto was only ninth. After about five laps we saw a tough battle for the lead between Brayton and Barcia, but Brayton held his own while Barcia had to leave second place to Dungey. But Villopoto also did not sit still and was on the rise. After eight laps we had a regroup behind Brayton's back with Dungey, Barcia, Roczen and yes, Villopoto. In this tough duel, Roczen crashed and lost some places. Ryan Villopoto continued to keep his pace high and with seven laps to go we immediately got a new leader. Villopoto took the lead from a poor start and immediately pushed through. Brayton was further pressured by Dungey for second place. But Brayton held on and even put pressure on Villopoto in the closing laps. Ryan Villopoto ultimately deserved the victory and this was his very first victory at the Phoenix stadium.

The holeshot went to Cooper Webb ahead of Anderson and Seely. Cole Seely jumped from third place to the lead before the end of the opening lap. Behind this trio we got Wilson, Stewart, Osborne and just inside the top ten Dean Ferris. Cole Seely had everything under control, but Anderson always kept him in his sights. With five laps to go we had Zach Osborne in third place who had matched Wilson. At the front, Seely seemed to be able to finish until he made a mistake on the very last lap and Anderson got into the wheel. Jason Anderson of course saw his opportunity and just like last weekend in Anaheim, Anderson ducked under Seely again a little later and took the win in the very last lap. Jason Anderson won in Phoenix ahead of a disappointed Cole Seely and Zach Osborne. Australian Dean Ferris finished seventh. Frenchman Valentin Teillet finished in eleventh place in the Last Chance and did not reach the final in Phoenix.
